VISITING AUSTRALIA

There are a number of visa options if you intend on visiting Australia. These options depends on a number of factors such as the duration of your stay and the intended purpose of your stay. We have presented below a number of visitor visa options. This is by no means an exhaustive list and we still recommend that you contact our consultants at Managing Migration in order to get a more accurate understanding of your eligibility.

VISITOR VISA (Subclass 600)
This visa enables you to visit Australia for up to three, six or 12 months.

You may be eligible to get this visa if you are travelling to Australia:

  1. As a visitor
  2. For business visitor activities.
  3. To visit family

ELECTRONIC TRAVEL AUTHORITY (Subclass 601)
If you are the holder of an eligible passport, you may be eligible to apply under this subclass. The average processing time for this visa is less than one day.

eVISITOR (Subclass 651)
This visa allows you to visit Australia to visit or for business visitor purposes for up to three months at a time within a 12 month period. Immigration does not charge an application fee for this visa subclass.

WORKING HOLIDAY VISA (Subclass 417)
This visa is for young people that want to holiday and work in Australia for up to a year. It is only available to people from eligible countries. You must be between the age of 18 and 31 years of age. In some cases, if you meet certain criteria, you may be eligible to apply for a second working holiday visa. There are certain restrictions that apply such as not being able to work for the same employer for longer than six months or studying for longer than 4 months. Other visa subclasses may be more suitable for you if you believe you can’t meet the restrictions imposed above.

WORK AND HOLIDAY VISA (Subclass 462)
This visa is available to people who are at least 18 but have not turned 31 years of age. In order to qualify, you need to meet the educational requirement and have functional English. In addition, you will need a letter of support from your home government.
